Glow of sunlight, quick and easy.

What is ?

The Mod Blonde Technique creates a glow of sunlight over all the hair, with heavy highlights framing the face and blending with a softer golden haze throughout the crown. This technique can be achieved on any client.

What products do you use?

Miss Clairol Conditioning Color or Complements Permanent Haircolor, Clairol Professional BW2 De-dusted Powder Lightener, and 20-volume Clairol Professional developer.

  1. Create your canvas with color (choose a shade of Miss Clairol conditioning color or Complements permanent color) and mix the formula.

    • Try Miss Clairol: 2 oz. 40D, Topaz mixed with 2 oz. Clairol Professional developer.
      OR
    • Try Complements Permanent: 1 oz. 6A Dark Ash Blonde mixed with 1 oz. 8A Light Ash Blonde and 2 oz. Clairol Professional developer.
  2. Apply either formula roots-to-ends and process 1 minute to break the base.

    Rinse well.

  3. Mix the lightener formula to the desired consistency: BW2 Powder Lightener and 20-volume Clairol Professional developer. (OR, to create a subtle blend of multi-colored highlights in warm tones, try different permanent-color formulas!)

  4. Add Sunlight. Foil the hair, creating heavy highlights around the face and a finer weave though the crown. If using lightener, process until the Yellow-Gold stage of contributing pigment is reached, remove lightener and rinse thoroughly. No after-glaze is necessary.
