Burnished Copper

What is Burnished Copper?

The Burnished Copper technique creates a rich sunset color, aglow with flickering warm candlelights, on Natural Level 3, Medium Brown, hair.

What products do you use?

  1. Mix 2 formulas:

    • Formula 1:
      • 2 oz. Miss Clairol 208RR, Reddest Sunset Red and any Clairol
      • Professional 20-volume developer
    • Formula 2:
      • BW Powder Lightener and any Clairol Professional 10-volume developer.

    Place foils around the face, using diagonal partings from crown to ear, alternating the 2 formulas. Start ½-inch away from scalp and take ¼-inch slices, leaving 1 inch between foils. Process foils, checking BW foils frequently. When desired Level of lightening is reached, remove foils, shampoo and rinse hair (coat with conditioner to avoid color absorption during Step 2).

  2. Mix formula: 2 oz. Miss Clairol Real Reds 204RR, Reddest Copper Red, with 2 oz. Clairol Professional 20-volume developer.

    Apply roots to mid-shaft and process for 15 minutes.

    Then (mixing a second batch, if necessary), apply formula mid-shaft to ends (be careful not to over-lap) and process an additional 15 minutes.

    Take down remaining foils and shampoo and condition all hair.
